But I managed a quick Friday night sewing special, so there is something material to show for all my efforts.
Nifty handle |
I have been wanting to make one of Ayumi's patchwork wristlets for a while, and here is my version.
Friday night is sewing night |
Rather a nifty little number, with a wrist strap and key tab, and little pockets inside.
Handy pocket |
Needless to say Princess Bunchy has paused in her veterinary endeavours long enough to commission one of her own. Just what she needs when she goes out, being only a handbag collector rather than a wearer.
Back to the sewing machine again, then. Hep, hep!
[And in case any of you are foolish enough to be thinking of things housework, take it from me and don't bother. Especially if you were considering applying housework to a computer in the form of cleaning the keyboard with a slightly (only very slightly) dampened duster. And particularly if you like to use hyphens, square brackets, inverted commas or the enter key, and wish them to carry on working after cleaning. {The jury is out on whether a new keyboard will be necessary.}]
Have a good week, my dears, and take it from me, stick to the sewing: you know it makes sense.

Oh Dear!
I think you should step away from the housework, apart from baking.....
The handbag is a lovely make.

Never has a truer word been typed!!
Love the wristlet, I have quite a pile of 2.5inch squares that might suit this project.

I'm sure you have more than just your pretty sewing to show for the weekend. By the sound of all those baking delights I'd say you have some pretty satisfied customers too. :)

Your wristlet is beautiful...as is all of your work. What brought me here tonight is your comment on my blog. It's been a rough evening for me. I haven't been blogging regularly. For some reason (God, I know) I went to check my comments and there was your kind comment. So many miles apart and yet your words felt like a warm hug to me. Thank you and may God bless you for blessing me!
Can't sew at the mo but as luck (and luck is a good thing, considering) that also means that I can't do housework. Hurray for that!
S'pose I'd better take another cup of tea into the garden then…
all these posts- please don't wear yourself out and go again!

ps how's your wrist?
pps I have a scantier version of the red drawers if you need tempting to stay!!
Oooops! I try to remember to clean mine with a dry paintbrush only.
Lovely patchwork.
I suspect that although there might be nothing physical to show for all your weekend's work there will be other things like satisfied customers who have enjoyed your home baking and learned lots from your course. To be worthwhile a thing doesn't have to be visible!! However your visible little bag looks great - must be OK if Princess Bunchy wants one! I'd stay well away from housework - nobody on their deathbed ever said "I wish I'd done more housework"!!!
Love that sweet purse. Sadly I can't sew so i'lljuststick to crochet :)
Have a lovely week,
Victoria xx
Hello Pomona! Lovely to see you're back again :) The little bag is very pretty, in such a sweet collection of fabrics too. I have tried to clean my computer keyboard in the past, but have now been given a special 'air duster' in a can which powerfully squirts air on to remove any dust etc ;)

Hip hip hooray. I was just thinking what a tip the house looks but on reading this, I shan't bother! Thanks for that instruction. x
Btw, your patchwork wristlet is just the ticket, very pretty indeed.
I will happily toss the housework out the window. Thanks for the instructions!
Pomona, that little wristlet is beautifully made, and the colorway is absolutely jolly!
Thinking about housework...what a concept! Perhaps I should actually think less about it and do more of it? Nahhh. Why break lifetime habits now.

Love your patchwork purse, such beautiful bright colours :)
What a gorgeous new header.
"Something material" - good pun, whether intentional or not. And a very delightful wristlet - especially since it has pockets. (A bag with pockets and tabs and handy little doodads is much more exciting than one without.)
Housework is overrated. :)
Hello and big waves - so glad you're here again.

Very cute! And yeah, that housework will get you every time, step awaaaay from the housework...
Totally agree on the housework front but now we have a puppy it seems more of the dreaded H word is required! Cute pouch - I'm sure it won't be the only commission!

I know what you mean concerning the time spent baking. Over the weekend I made lemon curd, lemon icecream, choc banana bread and mango upside down cake. There is still lemon curd around, but alas the cake boxes seem to be full of crumbs, and the ice cream tub is empty. Love your wrist bag. :)
