Sunday afternoon

Late summer sunshine and time to sit and knit and count blessings.

Just about to turn the heel on my candy-coated colours of summer sticks of rock socks.

Cushions made from recycled Aran sweaters by my clever sister - cut off the sleeves, neckline and ribbing to form a square and stitch up.

My favourite garden chair - thrown out from someone else's life and come to rest in my garden.

Rustic recycled wooden bench made by my boys for me last spring.

Small good things - precious little pieces of happiness.

Looks like a lovely afternoon. Obviously you're not getting the hurrican winds and rain down there!

You obviously are not getting the heavy showers we've had today - in and out like a yo yo with the washing!! Glad that you are enjoying your recycled chair, bench and cushions - and why wouldn't you they are all lovely!

We are enjoying a beautiful late summer day too! Mine hasn't been as peaceful though! I was chasing after 3 kids at the park. It's quiettime now though. I enjoyed catching a peek of a hexiecase and Happy Place bag :)

Love the colours of those socks... bright and cheery to lift the spirits.
Working for an auctioneer as I do my life is filled with previously owned, absolutely useful goodies.
Its a pleasure to see someone with the same desire to recycle and reuse...

I do like the look of your Sunday afternoon. It amuses me to realize that we both rely on that same wonderful sock knitting book. I am just about to turn a heel myself, on what might eventually become a Christmas gift for some deserving feet.

Cheers!

I absolutely love your stick of rock coloured knitting! And the arran jumpers recycled as cushions by your sister is a wonderful idea. I loved the bench too, and the little chair. Hope you had a lovely afternoon, and enjoy the week ahead.

lovely! over here, we installed a new low flow toilet (with the help of an online "how to" video) and scrubbed down the screened porch.

i think a quiet "sit down" in your wicker chair would have been nice, especially if we shared a cup of tea.

someday...

Sunday is the best day for sitting and knitting (or in my case, crocheting). Wonderful cushions.

I have a jumper just like that and I find it too heavy to wear. You may have just given me the ideal solution.
