Winners at last

Now I am very conscious that you have all been sitting on the edge of your seats anxiously waiting for the big prize draw - and that I have been very tardy about conducting the event, my only excuse being the ludic interlude that is half term.

The bird training did not go well so I decided to resort to the usual suspects, the Little Stranger and Mad Dog.

As is usual the wind started whistling around the garden just as I ventured out, bowl in hand, so I am afraid that I stayed very close to the back door, hence the tasteful grey backdrop to the pictures.

You will see quite a contrast in the attitudes of the participants.

We have Little Miss Pushy, and I Am Not At All Enthusiastic About This, And Far Too Polite to Elbow My Way In.

In fact, Little Miss Pushy is so pushy that I had a problem in actually getting close enough
to take the photo of the winners before they headed off across the garden.

But she means well, and is very willing to join in the fun.

Her only trouble, and one which I put down to her youth, is that she has difficulty in knowing when it is time for the fun to stop, and pieces of paper to remain in the bowl.

But we got there in the end, and here are the first three to land on the concrete:

The Liberty Book of Cross Stitch will be winging its way to Angela, Jan Eaton's 1000 Cross Stitch Motifs to Indigo Blue and Jane Greenoff's 100 Cross Stitch Patterns to Mix and Match to Felicity. Please could you all email me with your address for posting.

And commiserations to the rest of you - I hope the deprivations of Lent don't overcome your sense of good cheer. I have given up chocolate, cakes and sweet biscuits in the hope that the midwinter spare tyre will detach itself from my midriff, and am feeling slightly appalled at the thought of six weeks without such carbohydrate comfort, although I have great hopes for the substitute that I have found for my nibbly moments (the first one is free, and I have to say absolutely delicious) but will I be able to confine myself to one a day? I'll let you know how I get on . . .

Congratulations to the winners. Me and my spare tyre are in a discussion too. I gained 5lbs over Christmas. Time to reverse this trend!

Congrats to the winners - it's especially pleasing to see Ang on the list (remembering our tour round the V and A together)!

I dread to think how our dog would respond to this task...

And well done you for Lent - would you like to dabble with our Pause in Lent this year? No regular committment required - some people are posting weekly but others aren't. Enjoy those yummy looking snack boxes. You know the French don't snack? Sickening, I know, but actually I've learned a bit of the same restraint, although I don't always apply it!

Love looking at your selection process so much more more organic than others! Do you need a disclaimer - no pieces of paper were hurt in the making of this post!? Sorry I meant no animals of course!

Thank you SO much - the book will be a lovely reminder of that glorious day at the V&A when you generously spent so much time explaining the Victorian Art to me.

Blessings xx

Congrats to the winners! I love my graze boxes (although you'll have to skip the ones with chocolate in them for lent ;o) They store well though)

Wow, many thanks! This has brightened up a week which has been quite stressful and may even result in a career change over the coming months. Many many thanks to "LIttle Miss Pushy" (I hope I have the right name) who has the cutest little face and I love the way she is looking directly at the camera.

I'm wondering how you manage to entice your furry helpers to come up with the goods time and time again. Are you lacing the pieces of paper with choc drops?
Ah well, sorry to have missed out on the giveaway, not quite sure how that happened.
Happy grazing .. I, too, am off the naughty stuff so may have to spend some time on that site you mention!

Congratulations to the winners.

The dogs here have studied the pictures closely as in March they'll be making the draw for the giveaway I'm launching later tomorrow .. I think they were hoping for a few tips from your more experienced stalwarts ;D

Your excellent panel of judges has done it again. What fine winners they have chosen.

This time around, I've also given up chocolate for Lent. I know I can manage that part, so am also going to try to make more of an effort at patience during this season.

Your two dogs look rather like my friends two and they appear to have the same kind of role - Little Miss Pushy and Little Miss Timid.

Congrats to the lucky winners!

Your Lenten determination is an example to us all. (I have never given up anything for Lent, self-indulgent sloth that I am.)

P.S. Thanks for expanding my vocabulary with "ludic".

So glad I do not have to adhere to Lent! However I am sure giving up chocolate, cakes and biscuits would make a difference to my midrif too.

Congrats. to the winner of your draw.
