I distract myself with orts and scraps of fabric to the haunting tones of Princess Bunchy's flute.
And for my special friend in the north who complains about my lack of posts, here are some pretty pictures especially for you, my dear.
Well, as pretty as I can make them in this grey-white light ...
And there's another quilt to bind,
a sock to knit,
and a rather nifty pattern for an Idea Pouch to play with. Ideas always come in useful, especially when one is feeling rather Sunday afternoonish.
In such a time of change, I am glad that I have so many things to stitch, and boats bobbing alongside, and books about soil to study, and deadlines to meet.
Hoping that your Sunday is full of Ideas, too.

Happy to see a post Pomona! I read all of your blog posts, but rarely have time to comment. So I wanted to let you know you aren't just talking to the air. Your pale quilt blocks are really lovely!
Oh how I wish to knit socks; yours look wonderful.
My Sunday afternoon is full of telly and sock knitting, very snowy outside and freezing cold. Keep cosy.
Good to keep busy! And I've been working on a Cabbages & Roses quilt this weekend too - love the fabric, it's my second one, both for friends so chances are I'll do another one for myself someday too :-)
Happy Sunday,
Xx
Lots of lovely sunday afternoon projects there. Take care, Juliex
Looks like the perfect Sunday afternoon, I have spent almost every Sunday for the last 2 years at work so I'm very jealous. I also wish I could knit, I know how but I'm terrible at it!
Hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Hello Pomona! It's great to see you back! Do I understand correctly that you are moving house? Please forgive me if I've misunderstood. I'm a tad gormless this sunday afternoon (most sunday afternoons, actually). Your quilts look fabulous with great colour combinations which come out nice and clearly despite the gloomy light.
Warmest wishes,
Stephanie
Im up north too and appreciate your pretty blocks too lol
Glad to see you've been keeping yourself busy at least :oD
What a busy bee you've been!
All sorts of lovely creating happening your end of things then. Hope all is well otherwise too.
Lots of lovely pictures here! :) x
Crafting and making can be the most wonderful retreat when things are changeable, or difficult, i find. Lots of good things on the go there. :-)

I was doubly lucky today, Pomona, to have the day off...time to make soup, get the laundry done, do some knitting, chatting with friends, reading ... and
to see a new post from you. Please don't let too much of 2013 pass by without another post?

Hello! So good to see all that quilty goodness happening! Perfect for these oh, so chilly days.
I hope that you are well. I heard from my friend nearby you about all the snow in Faversham!
Looks like a perfect way to spend a snowy day! Love the sock - really want to make socks too xxx
Really love these colours Pomona :) The quilt colours are really lovely, safxxx
There's nothing like a pile of knitting, quilting and books to keep you occupied when sons are in the process of moving out! I love the lovely summery colours of those fabrics.
You always make me wish you were my neighbor and I could just hop over for a visit.:) Such lovely work you have!
I love your artistry in quilts. Very nice ~ and I'm sure the recipients of them truly appreciate the time and love that goes into them :)
So glad you are back!loving the new blocks.
Hidey ho! How nice to hear from you and to see that your quilts are coming on apace. The first is so soft and feminine-looking; the second so bright and cheerful.
Your comment about Sunday afternoons made me think of Bingley's description of Darcy "at his own house of a Sunday evening when he has nothing to do". Stay warm and keep quilting!
P.S. I am knitting my first sock. Nothing near as lovely as yours, but still, it's a sock. :)
Hope all is well with you, Pomona! The quilts are very pretty, you've been busy!
So much to love here - first the pastel beauty, then the lovely bright quilt, and then lots of gorgeous stripes!
Glad to see you here again Pomona, hope you are well, and stay a while this time do!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and hope the distractions help.

Hellooooo stranger, nice to 'see' you, even if I am a week late saying so :D
So much prettiness... I love both he gentleness of the first quilt and the vibrancy of the second... the socks are groovy
Yeah!! A new post with beautiful photos - Thank You!! I assumed the Ploughboy or perhaps Princess Bunchy took your photos.....but it must be you. And your photos are really lovely - particularly the close ups of your work. So that's another impressive talent to add to your list. The sock and its needles is particularly pretty. I wonder if you have tried a circular needle (I'm not a knitter.) Hoping your snow is now all gone.
