The perfect day

Sometimes life gets too much, and rather than keep calm and carry on, the only possible course of action is to panic and freak out.

And sometimes there is a necessity for neither. No action is required - just perception. Sometimes the perfect day in a perfect place ...  just happens, unexpectedly.

What made this day?

Wind in the sails ...

Pelicans in the garden ...

A gateway, inviting ...

Breakers and wet sand ...

Time to look at the clouds ...

Time to stand and stare ...

Flowers in the sun ...

Books to read ...

Time to sit quietly, knitting ...

 Beauty in the commonplace ...

 And a sea view.

Yesterday I went to a place where I found all of this - an English seaside place, where peace was to be found on an August bank holiday weekend.

I hope that you have found peace and perfection this weekend, too.

Glad you had a lovely rest. Gorgeous photos of beautiful things, especially the pelicans. It is lovely to break away now and again and take some time for yourself. I really like the little red check dress too. Reminds me of school summers although ours was green check.

Bliss. My mother pften quotes a line from a poem; I'm not sure which;
'for whatever we loose, like a you or a me, it's always ourselves we find by the sea'....(I think it might be cummings) true I think. x

Looks beautiful. Where did you find those pelicans. Years ago we had a chance to buy one of those little houses not dreaming that anyone would ever get permission to build such lovely contemporary homes in their place, I'm glad they did. Looks like a lovely place to stay.

Well Pomona, every single that that you've show and mentioned as a comfort really resonated with me.

I will have to remember to follow your lead.

Let me also say that I do love the wit of the choice between those two mugs. xo

I loved this post! Life is so complex isn't it? It's so good to enjoy those special, peaceful moments that fall between the hectic and challenging days. Lovely photo's that took me out of my world and into yours xo

Oh, swoon, what a wonderful day! Pelicans? Where did you find THEM? Otherwise, it's beautifully reminscent of our Brittany holiday - thanks for your kind comments. I loved the fact that we were slightly isolated on one side of a ria, which was almost island-like in the way we could walk or cycle along the coast and ria-bank, with lots to do and explore without getting into the car.

What a beautifully relaxing day you had...

Fun Fact -

What is the number 1 cause of death to pelicans.....

They starve, because they from cataracts from diving into the water so much and then can no longer see the fish.

I know a little morbid but true
